My computer has a problem caused by finding new hardware. This is pretty advanced stuff?

So heres what happened. I had winxp running perfectly fine… enough so it was workable. Now there is no virus anything on my computer. So what I did is use magic partition to take 10gb off my xp partition to install Mandriva 2007 spring one x86_64 (linux) and when I did everything went smooth. After I boot up in xp after the installion. Works fine. I notice a bubble pops up saying found and installed new hardware. Restart? I say no because I hate those and there stupid. Anyways after the restart I try to go back to xp. It doesn’t load the “windows is now starting” and is black or shows it but does not continue to the login screen. I can get back to winxp fine after using “Last known good configeration” but the “found and installed new hardware. Restart?” stuff always pops back up. So I predict that this is the cause of the problem. Any work arounds? Everything else works perfectly fine. Linux is working fine. Anyone have anything to help me with this problem?
Nothing in my device properties is “not funtioning correctly.”

Funny you should mention, Ubuntu, I installed it first and it did the same thing, no wireless card is detected.
